Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose Soldeu?

As well has being part of Grandvalira, the largest skiable area in the Pyrenees, Soldeu offers a lively apres ski scene whilst still remaining family friendly. Soldeu also offers an excellent choice of acommodation including the superb 5* Sport Hermitage & Spa.

Where is Andorra?

Andorra is a tiny landlocked country nestled on the border between France and Spain. The history of Andorra is very interesting and varied and, although it has its own government, it remains a co-principality with France and Spain. Andorra does not have its own airport and most tourists arrive by flying to either Toulouse, Girona or Barcelona, with transfer times varying between 3 to 4.5 hours depending on which airport you fly to and which resort you are travelling, however they can be a lot longer it the weather is bad!

What is there to do if I don't ski or snowboard?

Even if you don't ski or snowboard, you can still find plenty to do here! If you want to go up to see people on the mountain you can buy just a "gondola pass" allowing you to go to the top of the Soldeu gondola where you will find a restaurant with a large terrace as well as a large flat area where you can enjoy the snow!

There is also a bus service in either direction to Pas de la Casa and to Andorra la Vella, the capital of Andorra.

Why should I become a member of the Soldeu-andorra.com forum?

Anyone can post on the forum, but by becoming a member you can add a profile, and it is quicker to post as you don't need to enter a security code every time. When you become a member, you only need to provide limited information, and all information will be kept safely and not passed on to anybody else. You will also receive a few e-mails each year from us giving you an update as to what is going on.

Who are Andorra-resorts.com?

Andorra-resorts.com is owned and run by Steve Hull & Emma Staples, two skiing enthusiasts with seven years experience of working in Andorra. We currently have three websites: www.arinsal.co.uk, www.pasdelacasa-andorra.com, and www.soldeu-andorra.com. We aim to give as much detailed and up-to-date information about the resorts as possible, as well as bring you a wide variety of discounts on equipment rentals and in bars, shops & restaurants.

What will the weather be like when I go to Soldeu?

The weather in the mountains can change very quickly, and you should be prepared for very cold temperatures as well as hot sunny days on the slopes! Andorra has a very good snow record, and the 2008-09 season saw the main resorts opening two weeks early and closing two weeks late due to the massive amounts of snow throughout the winter! It is difficult to predict the weather conditions for a given week or month, so it is best to keep checking the weather forecast & snow report.
