Some local dishes that you might want to try include the following . . .
The local type of sausage, usually very large and served with pale beans.
A custard pudding sealed with a coating of burnt caramel.
Charcoal or oven roasted eggplant, red pepper and onions, smothered in olive oil, and sometimes chopped garlic.
Broad beans fried in olive oil with garlic, mushrooms and ham. Sometimes served with fresh mint.
Fresh country bread that you add things to, sort of making your own garlic bread, by rubbing tomatoes, garlic, oil and salt on to it.
Oven baked lamb, usually sholder or leg of lamb.
